MEET DR. SEAN H. LEE

Board-Certified Podiatrist | Foot & Ankle Surgeon

Helping patients understand the problem, so they can move forward with confidence.

Current Practice

Dr. Sean H. Lee is the founder of SLee Foot & Ankle, a private foot and ankle practice centered on accurate diagnosis, thoughtful clinical judgment, and individualized treatment.

His clinical focus includes sports and activity-related injuries, fractures and trauma, chronic and complex foot and ankle conditions, biomechanics, and surgical evaluation. He has a particular interest in second-opinion evaluations for patients with persistent symptoms, unclear diagnoses, or previous treatment that has not produced the expected result.

In addition to his private practice, Dr. Lee provides care through affiliated clinics, hospitals, and surgical facilities throughout Los Angeles, allowing continuity from initial evaluation and conservative treatment through surgical care and postoperative management when appropriate.

— The right treatment begins with understanding the problem.—

Professional Experience

Before returning to Southern California, Dr. Lee spent four years practicing in the Portland, Oregon area, treating a demanding, highly active population — runners, hikers, cyclists, paddlers, endurance and recreational athletes, and industrial workers — gaining deep expertise in managing complex, high-performance foot and ankle conditions.

His practice encompassed the full spectrum of foot and ankle care—from everyday conditions and sports injuries to fractures, trauma, reconstructive surgery, wound care, diabetic limb preservation, and complex postoperative recovery. He also participated in emergency department and trauma call, providing evaluation and surgical management of urgent foot and ankle injuries.

Working with a diverse patient population taught him a rare lesson that still shapes his care today: Understand the problem. Treat the person. Restore the path back to activity.

Training & Scientific Foundation

His residency included extensive care of veterans and former service members, strengthening his appreciation for function, resilience, and helping patients regain independence.

Before medical school, Dr. Lee spent six years conducting neurophysiology research focused on diabetes, neuroinflammation, memory, and molecular mechanisms of disease. That scientific foundation continues to influence his approach through careful clinical reasoning, evidence-based medicine, and thoughtful decision-making.
