Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a referral to see Dr. Lee?No. Patients may schedule directly with S. Lee Foot & Ankle. We welcome new concerns, ongoing foot and ankle problems, sports injuries, and patients seeking a second opinion after previous treatment.
Do you accept insurance?S. Lee Foot & Ankle is a private-pay specialty practice and does not bill insurance directly.
Upon request, we can provide an itemized receipt that you may submit to your insurance plan for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Coverage and reimbursement vary by plan.
What should I expect at my first visit?Your visit is designed to allow time for a thorough evaluation and meaningful discussion. Dr. Lee will review your symptoms, history, prior treatment, examination findings, relevant imaging, activity level, and goals.
The goal is for you to leave with a clearer understanding of the problem, your treatment options, and the recommended path forward.
Can I see Dr. Lee for a second opinion?Yes. Second opinions are a particular focus of the practice, especially when symptoms persist, the diagnosis remains unclear, previous treatment has not worked as expected, or surgery has been recommended.
When available, bring prior imaging, reports, and treatment records so the complete picture can be reviewed.
Do you offer urgent appointments or home visits?Yes. Urgent foot and ankle appointments and home visits may be available by arrangement based on clinical need, location, and physician availability. Contact the practice directly to discuss availability.
For medical emergencies requiring immediate care, patients should seek the appropriate emergency services.
Do you only treat athletes or complex conditions? No. S. Lee Foot & Ankle provides comprehensive care for patients of different ages and activity levels—from heel pain, bunions, ingrown nails, and arthritis to sports injuries, fractures, chronic conditions, and complex second opinions.
Whether the goal is returning to competition or simply walking comfortably, treatment is tailored to the individual.
What if I need imaging, surgery, or care beyond the office?Dr. Lee can coordinate advanced imaging, physical therapy, specialist collaboration, and surgical care when appropriate.
The practice combines the time, direct physician attention, and privacy of a low-volume setting with access to affiliated clinical and surgical facilities when a broader level of care is needed.
Services provided by outside facilities or providers are billed independently and may be submitted to insurance according to their billing practices and your individual coverage.
